MINARET OF VABKENT
Go there and contact
In the village stands the slender silhouette of a 40-metre-high minaret, typical of Karakhanid architecture. Built in 1198 by Abdulaziz Sadr, a descendant of the Sadrs, it is made of baked bricks, wood, stone and plaster. It rests on a base with a diameter of 6.19 meters. The top is reduced to 2.81 metres, creating an optical effect that makes it appear higher than it really is. Vabkent may not be worth a specific detour, but if you're heading to Gijduvan to visit the ceramics workshop, be sure to make a stop.
