Forécariah is a peaceful city whose history takes us back to the time of the colonies. On the spot, one can still find traces of it through the central square, the governor's house and the surrounding plantations. The old metal bridge that spans the river marks the entrance to the city. The former governor's house has become the current residence of the prefect. Its entrance is marked by two ancient cannons. On the road to Forécariah, after Maféréniah, the village of Fanyé is the birthplace of many Guinean intellectuals. The village is worth a visit with its pretty market and its appetizing fruit stalls: coconuts, bananas, pineapples and wild fruits.
