Administratively attached to the region of Kindia, Dubréka, with the very rapid expansion of the suburbs of Conakry, is now part of the same conurbation. It remains partly separated from the capital by a more or less preserved mangrove area and is wedged between the Smoking Dog Mountain and the meandering Soumba River. The city is especially known for the waterfall on the said river and located north of the city. The small port of Dubréka is essentially a fishing port. The proximity of some interesting islands for tourism has prompted the union to organize dugout canoe trips. To see once on the spot
