BISHOPS' PALACE IN KRAKOW
Read moreThis magnificent baroque building, built between 1637 and 1641, now houses the National Museum (Muzeum narodowe). A visit to the museum is a good excuse to see the interiors with their polychrome-covered ceilings and walls, which are just as beautiful as the exterior façade. The museum contains one of the richest galleries of Polish paintings from the 19th and 20th centuries, paintings, furniture and gobelins from the 17th and 18th centuries. You can also see the shrine of Marshal Piłsudski here.
CATHEDRAL OF THE ASSUMPTION OF THE HOLY VIRGIN
Read moreLocated in front of the Episcopal Palace, this church was founded by one of the bishops of Krakow who sat there at the end of the 12th century. Originally built in Romanesque style, it was rebuilt in the 17th century and has been modified several times since then to create a striking result dominated by the Baroque style. Inside, there is a Gothic triptych dating from 1490, an ornamented tomb in a Renaissance style dating from 1553.
CIUCHCIA EXPRES PONIDZIE
Read moreThis lovely vintage train runs on a narrow gauge railroad built by Austrian soldiers in 1915. Consisting of a steam locomotive and open-air cars (without roof), it runs through the beautiful landscapes of the Ponidzie region and the Nadnidziański Nature Park, with a possible stop in Umianowice for a picnic (on request). Formed by the meandering Nida River, this nature reserve offers a charming landscape, rich in marshes and rural scenery.

monastery, both dating from the 17th century. The environment is wild and you can enjoy a beautiful view of Kielce and its surroundings. It is not really a park that lends itself well to hikes of several days, nor even really a park that can be visited for hours. We recommend it for a break in the green and to admire the sunset from its top.

MUSEUM OF TOYS
Read moreEstablished in 1979, this museum has a large collection of old and contemporary Polish and foreign toys. Among the collection: wooden horses, model airplanes, cars, sailboats or trains, porcelain dolls and the unmistakable representations of the witch Baba Jaga, a famous character of Slavic folklore. The whole is tasteful and interactive, children (and older children) love it. It is a good place to visit with the family and maybe even a good time to bring back useful souvenirs from Poland.
