The 17th-century Szołayski house is home to the works of Stanisław Wyspiański (1869-1907), a local and one of the most original artists of the early 20th century. He was a writer, playwright, painter, photographer and cabinetmaker. His drawings, canvases and pastels include portraits of children and peasant women, landscapes and flowers. He produced numerous stained-glass windows for Notre-Dame, Franciscan and Wawel cathedrals.
