Opened in 1857, this 68-metre lighthouse is the highest in the Baltic. To reach the viewing terrace, you have to climb 308 steps, but the panorama is breathtaking. The lighthouse was damaged during the Second World War, after Nazi troops ordered its destruction. But the lighthouse keeper, a German, was not to be denied. The damage was not repaired until 1959. It was restored again between 1998 and 2000. It was opened to the public in 2000, with a museum in the janitor's house.
