CASA BLANCA

The archaeological site of Casa Blanca has not really been restored, and it is all the better. Of course, tourists still hope to see large pyramids like Tikal, Guatemala, or Palenque, Mexico, grandiose monuments that, restored, sometimes have nothing authentic or require constant maintenance to avoid erosion and degradation; but imaginative and dreamers can recreate here the atmosphere of yesteryear, in the silence of foliage. It was considered that the site played an important ceremonial role in pre-Columbian times. The anthropomorphic and zoomorphes sculptures discovered on the site and today exposed to the museum are truly striking. Much more authentic than its neighbour El Tazumal.

Housed in a beautiful colonial house, the museum offers an interesting panorama of local culture, intelligently commented. There is also a workshop where the añil (indigo) works in an artisanal way. Very interesting, pretty textiles presented. They can be involved in their manufacturing.
