MONUMENTO A LOS CAÍDOS

Under the monument of many heroes of the Revolution, today lies in peace. Admire the mural paintings adjacent to the Centrale a los Caídos. This pyramid, work of Gustavo Adolfo García, evokes the death of the heroes of the Sandinista revolution. The frescoes outline Nicaragua's history as a codex précolombiens: indigenous revolts, the destruction of their culture, independence, the struggle for university autonomy, the somocista dictatorship and the hope of a future peace.
