OMETEPE MUSEUM

Founded in 1994, the Museo de Ometepe in Altagracia is dedicated to local archaeology, ethnography and ecology. More than 1,700 petroglyphs have been recorded on the island, and Ometepe is a Mecca of pre-Columbian civilization. In the museum, you can see pottery, gold and metal objects, and learn a great deal about pre-Columbian culture and rituals.
