CHURCH OF XALTEVA

The city was built around this church (still distinguishes the original wall separating the Spanish quarter from the indigenous quarter). Rebuilt in 1890, after the fire, it does not emit a special charm inside. The walls, at the opposite corner of the church, were built by Brigadier Fernandez de Heredia in 1751, perhaps to protect the two places of forts in rainy times. The park that faces it was set up two years later. Work is under way and is financed by Spanish cooperation.
