This museum invites visitors to discover the maritime history of New Caledonia. Discovery is organized around four themes: trade sails, maritime migrations, maritime links and buoyage throughout the country, and La Pérouse's voyage during the Age of Enlightenment. Throughout the year, temporary exhibition spaces allow visitors to explore a wide range of themes related to the sea.

Interesting museum, nice that it had the English parts on the exhibits too, very helpful as our French is limited. Great round up of local history and how New Caledonia became a pla e where multiple nations traded up to the time of French settlement.

Musée très instructif sur la vie maritime du Cailloux avec en-autre James Cook et son histoire ! Pour le tarif, je recommande fortement !
Par ailleurs, ils y passent quelques expositions temporaires et il existe d'ailleurs plusieurs maquettes de bâtiments navale.
Accès facile et place de parking conséquent aux alentours.
Plongé de ce fait, au cœur de l'histoire navale.
