This museum invites visitors to discover the maritime history of New Caledonia. Discovery is organized around four themes: trade sails, maritime migrations, maritime links and buoyage throughout the country, and La Pérouse's voyage during the Age of Enlightenment. Throughout the year, temporary exhibition spaces allow visitors to explore a wide range of themes related to the sea.

Top musée, très adapté aux enfants.

Great little museum, English translations for most displays. Good presentation of maritime history. Very good activities for kids but I think they were mostly in French.

Un musée comme on les aime, bien pensé, jamais ennuyeux... Les enfants adorent.... Et les parents aussi... Trois heures de visite qu'on a pas vu passées... On reviendra...

Musée intéressant et bien fourni, touchant à différentes périodes de l'histoire maritime de la Nouvelle-Calédonie. Il est manifestement tenu par des passionnés qui souhaitent partager leurs connaissances. C'est accessible à tout type de public.
