SHWE ZEDI MONASTERY

Shwe Zedi Monastery is one of the oldest monasteries in the area. This monastery is one of those where U Ottama was one of the heroes of independence. The history books say little about it, but it is the great pride of the Arakhein. The monastery, like many places of this kind, offers courses to the poor children of the neighbourhood and welcomes all donations. Money to keep the monastery alive, but also school material to keep the education of the poorest people going, taken care of by a few monks.
