The Thamanya is a cult monastery where the spiritual master Shin Winaya lived. Every day Burmese people come here to make donations. This monk is nationally famous for his contribution to the well-being of the people of Thamanya. Indeed, each donation is used for the construction of roads, power lines or other infrastructures that benefit everyone... and not to gild the pagoda of the monastery as most others do! To get there from Hpa-An, several buses leave in the morning from the Shwe Yin Myaw pagoda.
