RURAL DEVELOPMENT SOCIETY

This NGO, created in 1992, assists Shan populations, particularly in the field of education. The heart of the project is in Kalaw, where a hostel has been set up so that children from the most remote villages have access to public schools. The shop in Kalaw sells local handicrafts, the profits of which are used to finance schools, bookshops and the fight against deforestation. You can also make some donations, notably through the Swiss branch of the RDS.
