On Inle Lake, the market is itinerant. It's called the five-day market. A schedule based on the lunar calendar. Ask for the schedule! Every day, the traders set up their stalls in a different village around or on the lake. First Ywama, Aung Pan and Taunggyi, then Phaung-Dauw U and Mang Thawk on the second day, Shwenyaung, Kalang and Kaungdine on the third, Nyaungshwe, Pindaya and Nam Pan, and finally Heho and Taungdang. In the early morning, a whole population meets at the market, sometimes coming from the mountains. An essential step.

One of the most frand market in the region malheuresemnt you will not find anything more than what is sold elsewhere. It is somewhat disappointing especially as the day or we went there it was completely in the south and it has afllu to pay a supplement.
