In the Sanchaung district, the Atlas is nestled on the 12th floor of the Uniteam building. Famous for its glowing sunsets over the Yangon River, the rooftop looks like a champagne bar, but is accessible and relaxed with its small comfortable lounges and movie nights one night a week, or the Wednesday night jazz jam sessions. Prices have also risen, but the 360-degree view of the city is worth the detour, especially at night when the golden dome of the Shwedagon Pagoda illuminates the whole district with a thousand lights.
