VAT PHACHAO SINGKHAM

If you go to Muang La, 28 km north of Oudomxay, do not miss to visit this vat which would date of more than 2 000 years... The entrance to this temple located in the forest is through a large red and gold door surmounted by a Hindu deity. The temple houses the Pha Chao Singkham, a superb statue of Buddha considered as sacred. Inside the complex one can also admire a large reclining Buddha as well as a 400 years old stupa, the Saymoungkhoune Rattana Stupa, which would have supernatural powers according to the legend.
