On the riverside, behind the old post office (look out for the signs, you have to go down a small path), La Phoubane is a real bargain, with its restaurant under a large straw hut overlooking the Nam Song. The rooms are simple but functional and clean. Some of them are in small concrete houses with small private terrace. It is a real pleasure to wake up in a quiet place, around a breakfast while looking at the misty mountains on the other side of the waves. The Phubarn café offers a magnificent view of the river.
