It was in this house that the composer Franz Liszt took his last breath. A must for Lisztomaniacs.
It was in this house - where there is now a museum that traces his life - that the great Hungarian composer Franz Liszt breathed his last, more precisely in the room where the funeral mask is today. An important detail for the future: Liszt was the father of Cosima, Richard Wagner's second wife. The old man had travelled to the Bayreuther Festspiele in July 1886, where he was able to see Tristan und Isolde, painfully hiding his coughs so as not to disturb the audience. He died a week later.
