Petit Futé's opinion on TIERGARTEN NÜRNBERG
Tumultueuse history that of the Tiergarten Nürnberg… Founded in 1912, initially at another site in the city, he moved here in 1939. Destroyed by the bombings of the Second World War in 1943, it will be rebuilt in the summer of 1945. Today, more than 70 years later, it is Germany's second largest landscape zoo, with 70 hectares, 300 species, some 2 500 individuals, and more than one million visitors per year. A specialist in marine mammals, it includes dolphins, sea calves, polar bears or perch, with all the same kangaroos, giraffes, bison, zebras, lemurs, lynx and other gorillas. A beautiful visit for small and large. Note that all individuals have always lived in captivity.
