This magnificent building, erected in 1905, is today the city's largest theatre and one of the most important performance venues in Bavaria. Its façade combines Jugendstil elements with the typical Nuremberg red stone. The Staatstheater was designed by the Berlin architect Heinrich Seeling, whose theatres have largely disappeared today.
