A historic café and tea house, it is said to be the oldest café in Germany, opened in 1686, a few years after the first café in Vienna but one year before the first café in Hamburg. Since its opening, the café has been popular with princes and delegates of the Perpetual Diet, the assembly of the Holy Roman Empire that has been located in Regensburg since 1663. The Café Prinzess also boasts of having been the official delivery service of the Thurn und Taxis! Today, there is a large selection of cakes, chocolates and pralines.
