Without a doubt one of the most beautiful mountain lakes in Bavaria and Germany.
The Königssee - "King's Lake" - is undoubtedly one of Germany's most spectacular lakes. All the elements of the postcard are there to create an enchanting setting: emerald green water, a belt of mountains (with the Watzmann peak in the distance), a baroque bulbous church (Kirche St. Bartholomä) and even a waterfall! The escarpment prevents hikers from circling it, and you'll have to take a boat to explore the lake. You won't be alone on the boat, as the Königssee is a major tourist attraction in the region.
