One of the most prestigious institutions in Germany: the Bayerische Staatsoper.

The Bavarian State Opera - on the stage of the Nationaltheater - is one of the most renowned opera houses in the world and can look back on a remarkable history and tradition dating back to the 1700s. Every season from September onwards offers world-class performances: more than 40 operas and over 20 ballets, under the direction of Serge Dorny and the General Music Director Vladimir Jurowski. Every year since 1875, the Münchner Opernfestspiele (opera festival) has been held here in June and July.
