As if it were lost off the Indian Ocean, the small island of Mossuril appears, asymmetrically, on the white sandbanks of the coast. The turquoise and translucent water pleases young lovers on their wedding night in northern Mozambique, the place that looks out over the ocean at 180 degrees gives a feeling of escape and freedom. Historically, Mossuril became infamous for being an important hub of the slave trade in the 18th century, between northern Mozambique and Brazil. In its neighbour Ilha do Moçambique, we can see that remembrance tourism is developing, and tells the story of a dark era
