The vehicles park along the market. Several times a day, chapas provide the link between Lichinga and Metangula. At 5am, they start a barge race through the city to fill up. The trip takes 2 hours and 140 Mtn in combi and only 120 Mtn in the back of a pickup. Bring a windbreaker and a sweater for the road. During the dry season, from May to October, it is sometimes possible to find a vehicle that goes to Cobué, especially on the Saturday before the boat's arrival. Chuwanga and its beautiful little beach are worth it.
