The train station is unmistakable in the city centre. In the worst case, let yourself be guided by the untimely whistling of the locomotive. No passes possible on the day of departure! The train leaves Cuamba for Nampula on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday at 5am. Women travelling alone are supposed to sit in the compartments reserved for them. While the journey between Nampula and Cuamba is reliable and as fast as the road, this is not the case on the Cuamba-Lichinga link.
