FESTIVAL DAS BANDEIRAS

At the end of April, the streets of Sao Filipe in Fogo were active. The island's women picked up the corn to prepare the Xerem, all the way through the sound of drums. Then, in the day, there is a cavalhada with horses. The day ends at the church for the blessing of the flag. The following days are rhythmic by processions, horse races and the celebration of offices. This is one of the most important festivals on the island. Don't miss it!
