NOCKBERGE BIOSPHERE RESERVE
National park where you can admire the Nockberge mountain range with its mid-mountain landscapes, lakes, alpine meadows and meet a variety of animals.
Classified by Unesco as a biosphere reserve in 2012, this natural site offers a wooded and grazed alpine landscape, away from the main tourist circuits. The Nockberge mountain range, damaged by coal mining, has now been restored to its former glory. You'll appreciate the gentle beauty of its mid-mountain landscapes, alternating between lakes and alpine pastures. Here, you can hike in peace and quiet, encountering cows, horses, chamois and marmots.
