This unique open-air instrument, built in 1931, is the largest in the world.

Erected over 800 years ago, Kufstein Fortress is one of the region's most important cultural sites, inviting us back to the Middle Ages. A wide range of activities are on offer: guided tours, museums and exhibitions, fine dining in the fortress restaurant. Outside, you'll discover cannons, wells and other remains. The former powder magazine and the vault of the Caroli bastion house an exhibition on medieval torture and prison conditions. A program of shows and events completes the offer.

La ville de Kufstein présente un double intérêt : sa vieille ville et sa forteresse immense, du XIIIème siécle, véritablement impressionnante, qui abrite un musée intéressant dont un orgue extraordinaire par sa taille, et domine l'Inn.
L'accès à la forteresse est payant avec des tarifs variables (adulte, enfant, famille, réduction pour ceux qui ont payé la taxe de séjour dans les environs, y compris en Allemagne). Compter 25 euros, en 2014, pour une famille avec 2 enfants, montée au château en funiculaire comprise.
La visite de l'ensemble du site dure au moins 3 heures.
