GAUDERFEST
A 100% Tyrolean festival, with beer and folk dancing, float parades and food stalls, dances and lots of entertainment.
Zell am Ziller is home to one of Tyrol's biggest festivals: the Gauderfest, which translates as "feast of the bon vivants". It's a beautiful folk and secular festival celebrating the arrival of spring. And in the streets it's a festival of traditional costumes, beer stalls, entertainment, parades (with historical floats on Sunday), Tyrolean dances, Ranggeln (traditional wrestling) competitions, not forgetting the Gauderbock, that barrel of Austria's strongest spiced beer! A great festival that attracts 30,000 visitors.
