It took over a year to transform this brick wasteland into an art center. This former military complex is home to the Foto Arsenal Wien, dedicated to photography, and the Filmmuseum LAB, where the Austrian Film Museum is archived and restored. Nearby are the rehearsal sites of the Burgtheater and the Vienna State Opera, Belvedere 21, the Museum of Military History and, in summer, the workshops of the ImPulsTanz dance festival. Programming of the month-long Foto Wien festival every two years (October 2025).
