SCHÖNBRUNN ZOOLOGICAL GARDEN (TIERGARTEN)
This zoological garden with its magnificent Baroque decor is one of Vienna's most popular attractions.
In the summer of 1752, Emperor Franz I, husband of Maria Theresa, introduced his guests to the newly created menagerie in his palace park. This zoological garden, with its magnificent Baroque décor, is the oldest in the world still in operation and one of Vienna's most popular attractions. Today, it's a modern zoo, committed to biodiversity, the protection of several endangered species, the well-being of its tenants and the education and awareness of the public, particularly children. A baby panda was born at the zoo in 2007, as were elephant cubs and numerous other specimens, including cheetahs, king penguins, lynxes, reindeer, meerkats and white-nosed coatis, not forgetting the star birth, in September 2020, of Schönbrunn's first baby koala! But the darlings are the young pair of giant panda recently entrusted by China to the Vienna Zoo as part of a program to save the species. Find out about the feeding times for the different species, so you can enjoy some special moments of observation.
On the website you'll find feeding times for each species. So you can get the best possible view of your favorite species. Guided tours are organized with the caretakers, as are nocturnal visits. Tip: avoid going to Schönbrunn Zoo at weekends to escape the crowds!

The ratings and reviews below reflect the subjective opinions of members and not the opinion of The Little Witty.
