CAFÉ HAWELKA
In this café of Viennese artists from the Belle Epoque, you can enjoy Buchtelns from the oven as in the time of Leopold Hawelka.
A Viennese café splendor and a stopover of unique charm. Opened in 1939 by Leopold Hawelka (1911-2011), this former artists' café still has its regulars. A pleasant aroma fills the street as Buchteln, a brioche filled with marmalade from Josefine Hawelka's recipe, emerges from the oven. Günther Hawelka, son of Josefine and Leopold, keeps the tradition alive. The coffee is still roasted on site. The company offers a full range of coffees for sale. You can even buy Hawelka coffee cups. Another address in Breitenfurter Straße.
