The Vienna Mozart Orchestra is made up of some thirty excellent musicians, and performs in the halls of the Musikverein (Golden Hall and Brahms Hall), one of the world's top classical music venues for its exceptional acoustics, as well as in the superb Vienna Opera House, located on the Opernring. In operation for several decades, it performs the major works of Mozart and Strauss. The musicians are dressed in period costumes. The Haus des Wiener Musikvereins, opened in 1870, is considered by many music lovers and musicians to be the best concert hall in the world for its acoustics. Bach and Beethoven are regularly performed here. But since the concerts of the prestigious Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra (www.wienerphilharmoniker.at) are the most popular in the city, you need to book well in advance to attend. Tickets are sometimes resold on the spot by buyers who are forced to cancel their evening at the last minute.

Founded in 1990 by pianist and conductor Paul Moser and his wife Sylvia, this chamber orchestra performs classical composers with a formation of 10 to 40 musicians in period costumes. Top of the bill: Mozart and Strauss. For the record, the WRO was Austria's official representative for the bicentenary of Mozart's death in 1991. In the purest Viennese tradition, the orchestra performs in the capital's most beautiful palaces.

Church concerts are a classic in Vienna, and are particularly popular in summer for their freshness. This beautiful Baroque church offers an elegant setting and impressive acoustics for the chamber music concerts regularly performed here, featuring works by Mozart, Haydn, Schubert and Beethoven. On specific dates, the performers use historic instruments. Free seating and program included in ticket.

Founded in 1971, Vienna's prestigious Hofburg Orchestra regularly performs classical concerts in the magnificent halls of the former imperial palace in the first district of Vienna, the Festsaal or the Zeremoniensaal. For decades (since 1980), it has enchanted a varied audience with a program that runs throughout the year, from its first New Year's concert to the traditional Christmas concerts, including the famous Strauss & Mozart concerts held several times a month from May to October.

This opera house occupies a large historic building in the ^9th arrondissement, which it has used for over 120 years to present opera, operetta, musicals, classical concerts and ballets. A more accessible address than the Opéra National, with shows that are generally more modern, even burlesque, popular and affordable for audiences new to the subject. Special events are programmed for children and families around opera, operetta, classical music and dance.
