Nothing could be more classical and marvellous than the weekly performances of this imperial school, founded in 1572 when Spain and Austria were part of the same empire. The school is a shining example of the equestrian tradition of the Habsburg aristocracy. The magnificent Lipizzaners, white Styrian horses, both powerful and elegant, in superb harmony with their rider, reveal all their beauty in choreographies to the music of the great Viennese composers.
