AKRANESVITI LIGHTHOUSES

Unusually, you will find two lighthouses here, including the one that can be visited (the larger one). The other lighthouse is called Gamle Akranesviti. Although the place lacks a bit of charm, one appreciates the walk up which is accompanied by a photo exhibition that mixes past and present of the city. Above the waves, a panoramic view is offered to you. On a clear day you can see the gulf stretching from Keflavik to Snæfellsnes. In winter, the place is also ideal to hope to see some northern lights.
