In a complex near the church, you will find an exhibition about the historian and saga writer Snorri Sturluson. The place also houses the results of archaeological excavations in the vicinity and many explanations, very nice when you like to dig in the past. You will also find a craft shop and a well-stocked bookshop. Short guided tours in English are available at an additional cost. The nearby church is the setting for a classical music festival every summer at the end of July.
