A steep drop of 200 m, offering a beautiful view of the harbor and the sea at Snæfellsjökull
The ascent and return of the famous volcano is done in one day. The approach to the glacier can be made by 4x4 via the 570 trail. From Ólafsvík, the hike, relatively easy, starts nevertheless brutally by a strong difference in level of 200 m. From the top of the prominence, there is a beautiful view of the port and the sea. You then reach a wide plateau that leads to the foot of the glacier. Although small (11 km2), the glacier can be dangerous. Be very careful, never go alone, and be aware of the weather conditions.

Magnifique glacier
Souvent recouvert de brouillard, nous avons eu la chance de pouvoir approcher ce glacier en prenant la piste 570 puis en randonnant autour. La vue sur la mer est magnifique. On a rarement une vue de tout côté sur la mer près d'un glacier!

Tous les éléments primaires pour un bon moment
Petit voyage d'une dizaine de jours en Islande, je me suis arrêté à snaefellsjökull, entre la mer le ciel & la neige on se trouve un peu petit face à cette nature grandiose! Prenez le temps de faire la balade le long du sentier côtier pour apprécier la nature et les falaises noires et les petites maisons colorées bien cachées des regards indiscrets

Quelle beauté ! La possibilité de faire le tour de ce volcan et de le découvrir sous tous ses angles le glacier, les coulées de lave tout en s'imaginant dans un voyage au centre de de la terre, c'est extraordinaire...
