The most interesting and recognizable monument of the village, a large and beautiful cathedral in a small hamlet in Holar.

The most interesting and recognizable monument in the village! It is impossible to miss the cathedral that stands in the town. The village was indeed the seat of the bishopric from 1106 to 1801 and therefore an important economic, university (the university closed in 1882) and administrative centre. This explains the presence of this large and beautiful cathedral in such a small hamlet. The first church was built on this site in 1050. However, the present building, made of red sandstone, was built between 1750 and 1763.
