Museum presenting many objects and documents allowing to discover the local life at the time of the golden age of the herring
Surely one of Iceland's most instructive museums! You can visit several buildings to learn about the golden age of herring fishing in Iceland, through various objects and units for preserving (freezing, salting...) and packaging herring. You can also discover different fishing boats and climb aboard, or with a bit of luck, taste some fresh herring! Please note that the visit takes time, so don't come at the last minute!

Dans le premier on découvre à travers différentes expositions et la projection d'un film la transformation du hareng, mais le plus impressionnant est à l'étage, où se trouvent les dortoirs où séjournaient les ouvriers qui donnent une impression de réalité.
Le deuxième bâtiment abrite plusieurs bateaux sur lesquels ont peut monter.
Le troisième présente les machines utilisées dans la transformations du hareng.
