Guesthouse with bright, parqueted rooms and clean communal bathrooms, wooden cottage with kitchenette in the garden
This guesthouse, very well maintained, has bright, parquet flooring rooms, each equipped with a work table and very clean collective sanitary facilities. The Herring House offers, in addition to wifi, the possibility of sleeping in a wooden cottage nestled in the garden. The latter has a kitchenette and private WC. A tip, stay 2 nights because there are many activities such as hiking, and beautiful museums to discover.

Beautiful little spot in the picturesque town of Siglufjordur. We had an amazing two-night stay with the very best hosts. Most comfortable bed in the world (no exaggeration!!) and if I could, I would give it 10 stars out of 5. Make sure you get directions to Skarðsdalsskógur from Helga. Such a beautiful and pretty spot for walking and just relaxing. We will definitely be back.

Gorgeous quaint wooden cabin overlooking the town. Host Helga was super friendly and kind. Put on the hot tub for me and even shared some of her lovely homemade goodie for breakfast. Very sweet.
The shower is outside the cabin (mine anyway) so rug up if winter. The hot tub was a lovely bonus. Thank you for such a lovely stay

Stunning little cabin in a quaint fishing village. We absolutely loved our stay! Beautiful setting within walking distance to everything. Very friendly owners were helpful in every way.
The room was warm and cozy when we arrived. The outdoor shower with the changing room was my favorite feature. Look forward to our next visit.

Big minus: the fact that there are shared facilities was cleverly hidden on the online booking platforms we consulted, so we became aware of the fact only upon arrival. One bathroom/toilet for four rooms with no separate WC is a challenge in the morning. If we had been aware of the fact, we would surely have chosen alternative lodgings. To be fair, the bathroom itself was nice and spacious.
Plus, no lounge or other possibility to sit down and strech your legs outside your room. Unless you want to sit outside, which at ten degrees C in summer is less attractive than it sounds.
