Launched in 2014, the IWG (Iceland Winter Games) has become one of the biggest winter sports festivals in Europe with disciplines such as skiing, snowboarding and even a dog-drawn sled race. Every year you can travel to Akureyri, the capital of the north, to witness some of the most breathtaking sporting feats. Originally, the event was supposed to be exceptional, but in a city surrounded by mountains, it's no wonder that such a festival has become more and more successful every year.
