The refuge is located on the northern bank of the Krossá River and has two fully equipped kitchens and a large common room

The hut is located on the northern bank of the Krossá River and can accommodate up to 75 people. It is spacious in its facilities, with two fully equipped kitchens, one large and one smaller, as well as a large common room for eating and socializing. There is a possibility of a nice hike north of the river. The Laugavegur trail is a very popular 50 km hike between Þórsmörk and Landmannalaugar, with the hut serving as a stopover.
