A brand-new hotel offering spacious rooms with a magnificent view of the surrounding countryside - a real change of scenery!

This brand-new hotel opened its doors in June 2019. The 69 spacious rooms offer magnificent views of the surrounding countryside. It's less than 2 hours from some of South Iceland's most picturesque attractions. From the luxurious lounge, you're likely to admire the Northern Lights: there's almost no light pollution! A little extra: a state-of-the-art acoustic system that eliminates background noise. For dinner, enjoy local gravlax salmon, or take advantage of the breakfast included in the room rate.

Owner's Message

The Landhotel is a new hotel, which just opened in June 2019. It is an elegant four-star hotel. The architecture of the hotel and its interior is inspired by the environment and has a total of 69 rooms, all of which are very spacious and offer fantastic views of the highlands, lowlands and midlands.

One of the unique qualities of the Landhotel is its location in the countryside, where there is no light pollution or traffic. The hotel is about two hours from the most picturesque attractions in southern Iceland, which offer an endless list of recreational activities. It is optimal to have a base at the Landhotel and enjoy your adventurous journey during the day and enjoy quiet evenings in our luxurious hotel.

State-of-the-art sound system throughout the hotel!

The hotel prides itself on its state of the art acoustic system, which means that there is no echo in the hotel. Our guests can enjoy conversations without any background noise from others. A perfect place to relax!

At Landhotel there are two Norhtern Lights web cameras on the rooftop that monitor the lights every day. Guests can view the Northern Lights from their smartphones by going to our website www.landhotel.is where they can view them.

Really enjoyed this hotel. The only thing I would suggest is that they put a little more money into their spa. The massage therapist deserves a better bed, and there needs to be more decor downstairs, as right now it’s a little “cold” - other than that, it was super cute and quiet. A great place to see northern lights at night.

Slightly away from places but a great stop outside the city for the first or last part of travels.

Super clean, included breakfast is great. We didn’t see northern lights but would be a great location to see them.
