The Hjarðarból guesthouse is ideally located in southern Iceland, between Hveragerði and Selfoss. The Hjarðarból farm was part of a government project to give people who wanted to become farmers a chance to do so. Kristján and his wife Halldóra built a beautiful farm with cattle, horses and sheep in the 1950s. Since then, Sigridur has developed the premises, including hot tubs, while maintaining a bucolic atmosphere, especially in the dining room with its tea/coffee corner.

The perfect home away from home with a prime location, between Hveragerði and Selfoss, in South Iceland. It is the ideal accommodation for those wishing to explore South Iceland, as most of the main attractions are within a relatively short drive.
Hotel Hjarðarból is owned and operated by Helga and her family. If you like the countryside but don't want to be too far from Reykjavík, Hotel Hjarðarból is for you. We strive to make your stay in Iceland as pleasant as possible.
Housed in reconstructed farm buildings surrounded by woodland, this relaxed family accommodation is located approximately 46 km from Reykjavik, in an amazing area where you will find the hot springs and waterfalls of Hveragerði Geothermal Park and various activities such as horse riding and hiking nearby.
Hotel Hjarðaból has 30 comfortable and cosy rooms with rustic furniture, varying in size and design. We offer double, triple, quadruple and special family rooms with private or shared bathroom, suitable for all types of travel.
In addition, you can enjoy free parking and access to the terrace and garden with barbecues and picnic tables, the comfortable TV lounge and our amazing outdoor hot tubs.
