If you want to enjoy the Icelandic nature close to the capital and walk in peace, discover the island of Viðey. This island off Reykjavík is only accessible by boat. Don't worry, the crossing is short, about fifteen minutes from the Old Port or Skarfabakki in high season, only from Skarfabakki in winter. Once arrived, you will discover a now uninhabited island, on which only two houses remain: the oldest stone house in Iceland now transformed into a café and an old church.
