Street which represents today the main commercial artery of the city center in Reykjavik
The axis was once laid out to connect the core of the capital to the Laugardalur valley where the inhabitants took advantage of the hot springs to wash their clothes. It has become a semi-pedestrian street and is now the main shopping street in the city centre. The street is always busy and attracts passers-by with its many cafes and shops. At weekends, it is also very popular with tourists. It is the ideal place to buy souvenirs of your trip and gifts for your loved ones on your return.

Mais l'ambiance est agréable, mes maisons soignées et colorées. Allez aussi à la découverte des boutiques cachées dans des cours intérieures, par exemple un bouquiniste qui vend des livres pas cher (rare de trouver des choses pas chères !!).
