The glass house room doesn't exist. they offer a room with a glass ceiling on their website (photos of it are on the website), but when you arrive at the hotel, they told me "oh that room doesn't exist" and they "upgrade you for no extra charge" to a "better room". But its just a very small room on the top floor. Room was clean, but front desk was kind of rude when it came to breaking me the news that the room i booked doesn't exist. decent hotel but i wouldn't stay again.
Great hotel right in the heart of downtown. The rooms are a little small but perfect if you’re spending the day exploring. The front desk was very helpful with our stay too!
Our weekend in Reykjavik was superb, thanks to Hotel Von & @hotel's amazing deal! The location is so convenient, Bonus was right next door, 5 min walk to the bus stop, easy walk to everywhere! Our room was compact, no actual closet for jackets, but we had a free upgrade to a balcony-city view as there was a misunderstanding on my part of the glass room. But thank you to Gartis for the initiative. We truly loved our room with the view of the Hallgrimskirkja! Takk fryrir!
We were very pleased with this hotel, a great view of Hallgrimskirkja (looks fantastic at night when lit up) from the room we was provided, very clean, pleasant and friendly staff overall a good atmosphere. The hotel is located to all the good resturants and bars, and just a short walk to the sea front. I work occasionally in Iceland and will be staying here again in the future.
Charming boutique hotel, though rooms are somewhat compact and lack adequate storage for larger winter clothing. Rooms could benefit from a fresh coat of paint and the option to provide guests with double duvets for double beds instead of two single ones.
The receptionist, Jose, was absolutely exceptional and truly enhanced our stay.
Hotel Von is located close to Rainbow Street, but it's far enough, so you're not hearing the noises on the street. It's also close to Bus Stop 8, which is one of the approved pickup locations for tours.
There is also a receptionist, who is very helpful!
I had a room that had a scenery of the snowy mountains, which amazed me on my first day.
Rooms were clean and comfy, albeit a bit on the small side.
Points for improvement:
Shower water pressure was very weak (at least on the 6th floor).
Stayed for the 2nd time.
Rooms are alright, pricy but that's the case in Iceland in general
